Eric John "Busy" Adams, 71, Brookfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 12, 2007 in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Hilda Adams of Western Shore. He is survived by his wife Jamesie (Johnstone); son Derek, Truro; daughter Jennifer, Brookfield; brother Ernie, Chester. He was first employed by the Brookfield Lumber Mill. He did carpentry work with Ivan Archibald, Brookfield. For 26 years he was employed with the school board as maintenance janitor at the Truro Junior High and the South Colchester High School. He was an avid sportsman; he loved fishing, watching ball games, hockey games, and basketball games. For many years he curled at the Brookfield and Truro curling clubs. He was a former member of the Brookfield Men's Club and the Brookfield Athletic Association. He was a member of the Brookfield Baptist Church. He enjoyed attending the United Church campground meetings in Berwick for over 30 years, where he did a lot of volunteer work. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Minister Leland MacLean and Pastor Adam MacGregor officiating. A reception will follow the service. A private family burial will take place following the reception. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, the Canadian Diabetes Association, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
