Robin Cleary, 37, Upper Stewiacke, formerly of Pleasant Valley, Antigonish County, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 1, 2007 at home after a determined fight against breast cancer. Born in Pictou to Sylvia Dobson Condon on March 8, 1970, and adopted by the late Robert and Margaret (Meagher) Cleary of Antigonish. She was a graduate of Dr. John Hugh Gillis Regional High School. She received a BBA Honours from St. Francis Xavier in 1992, and an L.L.B. from the University of New Brunswick in 1995. She managed the law office of Dean & McMath in Fredericton, N.B. and most recently was the operations manager of MacIntosh, MacDonnell and MacDonald in New Glasgow. She is survived by her husband, Mark Lancaster; sisters Dianne Langille (Bob), Truro and Peggy (Troy), New Glasgow; brothers Elwood and Neil, Antigonish; Earl (Joyce), Lethbridge, Alta.; Robert (Karen), London, Ont.; David (Val), New Glasgow, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother Lawrence. Robin was known for her love of dogs, cats, birds, horses, 14-course meals, and holidays of all kinds, in particular Christmas and Christmas lights. Her body has been cremated under the direction of the Arimathea Funeral Co-operative, Upper Musquodoboit. A memorial service will occur on the summer solstice, June 21, at her home. She will be sadly missed by her husband Mark, family and many friends including James, Jim, Desmond, Chris, Judy, and Johanne. Sincere appreciation is expressed to Dr. David Henderson, Dr. Bruce Coldwell, the Nova Scotia Cancer Centre, the Colchester Regional Hospital, nurse Cathy MacMillan and the VON. In lieu of flowers, donations to a local SPCA would be greatly appreciated, as well as a lit candle and a toast in her honour.
