Jean Murial (Buckler) Crawford-Lane, 86, formerly of Oxford and Truro, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2007 in Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche. Born in Tatamagouche Jan. 11, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Stiles and Hilda (Stevenson) Buckler. Jean had a full life besides being a wife and mother, belonging to the Trinity United Church Women's Mayflower Chapter IODE in Oxford, and the Gayettes and mixed bowling league in Truro. She also worked for Margolians in Truro for a few years, which she enjoyed very much. Her favourite place to be was at her cottage in Pugwash, where she spent many summers with family, friends and relatives. Jean is survived by sons, Thomas Keith (June), Ottawa; Douglas Allan (Georgie), Truro; daughters, Marion Jean (Martin) Dow, Dartmouth; Beverly Ann (Roger) Henley, Windsor, Ont.; Marsha Grace (Shaun) Koran, Dartmouth; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Myrtle McIntyre, Moncton, N.B.; brothers, David Morrison, Moncton; Stewart Buckler, Winnipeg, Man.; Lester Buckler, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; Arnold Buckler, Thunder Bay, Ont. Jean was predeceased by her first husband, Norman Irving Crawford; second husband, Chester Allison Lane; son, Norman Donald "Donnie"; sister, Doris Buckler; brothers, Murdoch Morrison and Harold Buckler. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, with funeral service at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26, both in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, 5075 Main St., Oxford, 447-2930. The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregivers at Willow Lodge. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
