HOPEWELL - James Irving "Jim" Fraser, age 79, of Foxbrook Road, Hopewell, passed away Monday, January 22, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Hopewell, he was a son of the late Munro Fraser and Margaret "Marnie" (Hadfield) (Fraser) MacNaughton. He was a retired employee from Michelin Tire. He was a member of the United Church of Canada. He bowled in the Michelin Retirees Bowling League and was past president of Westville Minor Hockey. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Patterson; children: Gary (Dale), Hopewell; Phyllis Fraser, Riverton; David (Yvette), Winnipeg; Jeff (Lenore), Salt springs; Kevin (Rena), Calgary; Lori (Dale) MacDonald, Scotsburn; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Beverly (Malcolm) MacDonald, Head of Chezzetcook; Ruth (Gerald) Sweeney, Australia; sisters-in-law: Joyce West; Brenda Mugford, Elsie Fraser. He was predeceased by great-grandson, Daniel; son-in-law, Brian Fraser; brother, Ron. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday with Rev. Michael Mugford officiating. Family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or the VON.
