MacPherson’s Mills – Phyllis Marie Cameron, 87, of Grist Mill Road, MacPherson’s Mills, passed away November 21, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Trenton, she was a daughter of the late Alfred Eland and Edith Sarah Elizabeth (Hodgetts) Harper. She had been a resident of MacPherson’s Mills since 1969. She was an adherent of Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn. Phyllis was a very active member in her community belonging to the MacPherson’s Mills Women’s Institute, Thorburn Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and very active in the Crime Prevention Program. She was quick to volunteer for anything that was going on in the community. Phyllis was an avid card player, enjoyed knitting and making crafts. She enjoyed life to the fullest and her door was always open to friends or anyone in need. She is survived by her children: Gerald Jr. (Phyllis) Cameron, Trenton; Diane (Donald) Cameron, MacLellan’s Brook; Elaine (Harold) Cameron, Caledonia; Trevor (Irene) Cameron, New Glasgow; Harold (Ella) Cameron, Miramachi; Philip “Bim” (Susan) Cameron, MacPherson’s Mills; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Grace Richardson, Stellarton; Winnie (Frank) Martin, Little Harbour. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald; and a brother, Dennis. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow.
