East Lawrencetown - Raymond Fenwick Thompson, 81, East Lawrencetown, born November 4, 1925, passed away August 1, 2007 at home. A World War II veteran, he served overseas. He served in the Navy for 20 years and retired from HMC Dockyard. He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Lloy); and his son, Raymond Fenwick (Joey) Thompson; his sisters: Patricia, Geraldine, Marie and Maud, his brother, Stafford. He is survived by his brothers, Gerald (Doris), Merigomish; and Norman, Edmundston. He is also survived by his daughters: Sandi Thompson, Sackville; Sheila Thompson, Dartmouth; Lori (Tony) Voogt, East Lawrencetown; Linda (Michel) Bessem, East Lawrencetown; step-children: Kenneth (Nancy Maas) Powell, Halifax; Karen (Robin McDonald) Lyle, Halifax; Joan (Barry) Harrison, Calgary; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grand children and special nephew, Kevin. He was a member of White Ensign Lodge No. 129 and Philae Shrine. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth, where a memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, reception to follow. Rev. Patricia Malin officiating.
