PICTOU – Paul, Robert “Gub”, age 58 of Beach Road, Pictou Landing First ­Nations, passed away Wednesday, April 16th, 2008, at his home. Born in Pictou Landing, he was the son of Mary Paul. Robert was a lifelong resident of Pictou Landing First Nations. He was a fisherman by trade and was a member of Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, reading, puzzles and science fiction and western movies. He was a survivor of the Shubenacadie Residential School. He is survived by sons, Warren (Suzanne) Francis and Adam (Shannon) Paul, both of Pictou Landing; daughter, Andrea Paul (Darcy MacInnis), Pictou Landing; step-daughter; Jackie (Douglas) Alex, Pictou Landing; ex-wife; Teresa; nine grandchildren; sister; Mildred Yogis, Florida; many nieces and nephews; special friends; Donnie and Danny Brooks, Roddie and Alan Francis. He was predeceased by a son Gabriel Richard. The family will receive visitors at his daughter’s residence at 92 Eagle Road, Pictou Landing First Nations, 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Cremation to follow the service. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only please. Donations in “Gub’s” memory may be made to the Autism Society or the I. W. K. Arrangements are under the direction of the H. W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
