Ethel Marguerite Kelly, widow of the late Joseph Kelly passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the St. John-St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born 1921 in PEI to the late Sydney and Isabel (Smith) Burch. Ethel is survived by two daughters Maureen Anne Boyce (Michael) of Saint John and Marlene Mary Beckingham (Larry Saulnier) of Moncton; brothers Reginald (Ina) of BC and Hampton of PEI; three sisters Thelma Olsen (Norman) of BC, Blanche Finley (Lloyd) of Mississauga, ON and Betty Arsenault (Erskine) of ON; seven grandchildren Stephanie, Christopher, Jason, Tom, Kevin, Keith, and Alex; great-grandson Kohan; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides her parents and her husband Joe, Ethel was predeceased by her sister Pearl; brothers Byron , Gary, Edgar, and Eldon. During World War II Ethel served in the Navy as a leading WREN. In her later years she enjoyed the Golden Oldies Bowling League.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 27 at 10:00 am from Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 360 Dufferin Row. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Following interment a reception will take place at Assumption Centre. Donations in memory of Ethel can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
