It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Art after a short courageous battle with mesothelioma at the age of 74. Art passed away peacefully on February 20, 2010 in Kamloops surrounded by his loving family. Art is survived by his wife Sue (our angel), his seven daughters, Connie (Cleveland) Vann, Pat (Larry) Olynick, Linda (Roger) Cote, Jeannette (Alex) Remple, Joanne (Gord) Cave, Theresa (Russell) Jewitt, Annette (Colby) Woodhead, two stepsons Kurt (Monica) Richter and Kris Richter, seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, four brothers and one sister. A loving, devoted and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, Art will be missed by all who knew and loved him.There will be no formal service at Art's request, however there will be a come and go at Art and Sue's home on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, between 2:00 and 4:00 P.M. Friends and family in the Kamloops area are welcome to come offer their condolences. A celebration of Art’s life and interment will be held in Regina, Saskatchewan at a later date. A special thanks to the staff at The Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House, Dr. Avanessian and all the staff at the Cancer Clinic at the Royal Inland Hospital, as well as Drs. Hamilton and DeWet.
