TRENTON - Roderick Richard "Roddie" Fraser, age 72, of Ninth St., Trenton, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2007, in the QE II VG Site. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late John Henry and Grace Wilena (MacAulay) Fraser. He was a retired draftsman from Glasgow Metals and a former employee of Maritime Steel. He was a member of the First United Church, Trenton, and the Fireman Dart League. He was a former member of the Trenton Fire Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, the former Pauline Foye; daughter, Yvonne, Antigonish; sons, Darrel (Emily), MacLellans Mountain; Greg, at home; grandchildren: Lloyd, Gillian and Giselle; great-grandson, Brady; sister, Gertrude MacKenzie, Trenton; brother, Robert MacAulay, Trenton; mother-in-law, Alta Foye, Pictou Landing Road; several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday from the First United Church, Trenton, with Rev. Debra Orton officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the First United Church General Fund or a charity of choice.
