Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Friday, May 30, 2008, aged 85 years. Predeceased by his beloved wife Rudy (nee Bowring), brothers Melvin and Daniel and sister Greta. Leaving to mourn with loving memories son, Darrell and daughter-in-law Carol, two wonderful granddaughters, Hannah and Nora, who were Poppy's pride and joy, brothers Freeman (Joyce), Wallace (Margaret), sister Marion Feltham, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and very special loyal friend Alma Newbury. Visitation will take place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor on Sunday, June 1, 2008 from 7-9 p.m., and Monday June 2, 2008 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Park Street Citadel with Major Sandra Stokes officiating. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family would like to express their gratitude for the exemplary care provided by the medical and nursing staff of 5 South A, CCU, OR, and especially the CVICU of the Health Sciences Centre.
