Jean Florence Langille, 86 – It is with heavy, saddened hearts the children of Jean announce her passing, peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit of Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, on September 29, 2008. She was the eldest daughter of the late Frank and Janie (MacDonald) Henderson of Seafoam. She lived most of her adult life in Pictou. First and foremost she was a wonderful, loving mother, devoted wife, and friend to all. She was a life-long member of St. James Anglican Church. She worked outside the home later in life, with her first employer being G.J. Hamilton and Sons. She was also employed for a time by the Lobster Factory in Caribou. Her most rewarding employment was with Edward Mortimer Place (presently Shiretown Nursing Home) where she was employed as cook for 12 years. Here she was truly recognized by staff and residents for her wonderful cooking abilities as well as her endearing personality. Jean loved to bowl and belonged to several bowling leagues. She also enjoyed playing the accordion, knitting and crocheting, and playing auction 45's.
