Johnston, Albert Alexander, age 84, formerly of Bennett Street, New Glasgow, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2008, in Glen Haven Manor. Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late Clifford and Winnifred (Matheson) Johnston. He was retired Federal Servant. He was a member of Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church and was an avid book collector. He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy McLean, son, Gordon (Jocelyn) Port au Port, NL; granddaughters, Michelle (Ryan) Howlett; Cheryl; Sharon; great-granddaughter Julie Howlett, and sister-in-law, Bertha Johnston, New Glasgow. He was predeceased by his brother, William Donald Johnston. Visitation was 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home New Glasgow. Funeral service 2 p.m. today in Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Sand officiating. Burial will be in Abercrombie Cemetery at a later date.
