PICTOU/NEW GLASGOW - Alicia Margaret "Buddie" Gladney Robertson, 79, Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, formerly of Temperance Street, New Glasgow, passed away, Sunday, January 28, 2007, in the home. Born in Trenton, she was a daughter of the late Jewell Primrose and Mary Kathryn "Kate" (Martell) Stroud. She had been employed as a cook for the former MacInnis Restaurant, Blue Acres and as a cook/waitress for the former Norfolk Hotel and Peter Pan Restaurants, New Glasgow. Buddie was a kind and generous person. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are daughters: Marjorie Gladney, Banff, Alta; Nanci Cormier (Ralph Mercanti), Thorburn; Patsy Hillier, New Glasgow; Marilyn Walsh, British Columbia; son, Scott (Tina) Gladney, St. Lazare, Que.; sisters, Anna White, Joggins; Vivian Penny, Trenton; brother, Geordie Stroud, Ontario; grandchildren: Nikhi Cormier, Gerard Gladney, Wayne Wernicke, Autumn and Riley Gladney; great-grandchildren: Kayla Clark, Logan Cormier; Johnny, Gabriella and Faith Ann Gladney; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Garfield Francis Gladney; second husband, Robert Robertson; sister, Dorothy, a sister in infancy; brothers, Pete and Jimmy; grandchildren, Michelle Cormier, Michael Strafford. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Cremation to follow.
