Stellarton - Allan Robert MacKay, age 45 of Belmont Ave., Stellarton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Robert and Katherine (Skidmore) MacKay of Stellarton. Allan lived most of his life in Stellarton. He was a loyal employee of Michelin Canada for some 27 years. He was a member of Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton. Allan's passion besides his four girls was hockey either being a Montreal Canadian's fan or playing the sport. Working with his hands while renovating their home was something he especially enjoyed. Surviving besides his parents, are his wife, the former Cheryl Worthen; cherished daughters: Sarah, Jillian and Erin, all at home; a brother, Carl (Missy) of North River, Colchester Co.; a sister, Lori (Glenn) MacDonald of Egerton; a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and 14 loved and cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Henry and Laura Skidmore; paternal grandparents, Albert and Valerie MacKay; an aunt, Bunny White; and an uncle, Stewart MacKay His remains will rest in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton, for visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. from Christ Anglican Church with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Allan may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society a charity which Allan held close to his heart.
