Bessie Janetta (Keddy) LeBlanc, of Pictou, passed away Wednesday, March 26, the last surviving member of her family, following a short illness. Born in Lake Ramsey, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Annie (Bowran) Keddy. Her life was filled with family and friends. She took great pleasure in local politics and was active in the Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Seniors’ Club, and was a past member of the CWL. Her greatest pleasure was derived from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren reveling in stories of their lives. She is survived by her son, Lawrence LeBlanc (Margie), Pictou; daughters, Patsy Fleury (Butch), Greenwood, Kings Co.; Dianne Burns (Wayne), Ardoise, Hants Co.; grandchildren: Stephen Fleury (Debbie), Cheryl Kramer (Bob), Kevin Fleury (Val), Andrew LeBlanc (Myrna), and Leslie Burns; great-grandchildren: Stephanie and Aaron Fleury, Bobby and Samantha Kramer, Bjorn Fleury, Anna LeBlanc and Tristan Burns. She was predeceased by her husband, Pat LeBlanc; brother, Willis Keddy; sisters: Kate Daikens, Sarah Covey, Pauline MacKinnon, Norah Marcott, Lizzie Henderson, Hazel Spencer, Eliza Hawboldt and Georgina Morrison. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Cremation will follow. Burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations in her memory may be made to the Maritime Oddfellows Home, Pictou.
