PICTOU - Charles Alexander "Sandy" Munroe, of Pictou, passed away peacefully in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, on June 28, 2007, at the age of 57. Born on Pictou Island, he was the son of Ida and the late Charles Munroe. Sandy was a valued employee of Maritime Steel Foundry where he worked as a supervisor since 1996. He was predeceased by his father, Charles Munroe, and his sister, Shirley Rankin. Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral will be held 2 p.m. Sunday from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Pictou, with Rev. Alan Stewart officiating. Interment will be in the Seaview Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
