NEW GLASGOW - Charles Edward Ross "Charlie" MacInnes, 85, of Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Westville Road, passed away Monday, February 12, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Isle of Coll, Scotland, he was a son of the late Archibald MacDonald and Margaret (Nicholson) MacInnes. He served with the Pictou Highlanders during the Second World War. He had been a millwright and charge hand at the former Hawker Siddeley, Trenton. Charlie was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 29, Trenton. Surviving are daughters, Heather (Bill) Ross, Ontario; Bonnie (Derek) Borden, New Glasgow; sons: Archie, Stellarton; Johnny, Fort McMurray, Alta.; Kevin (Lisa), New Glasgow; Ross, Stellarton; sister, Rena MacDonald, Stellarton; brothers, Donald, Stellarton; John, Halifax; Robert, Halifax; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great- great granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice Doreen (Turner); daughter, Erna Stefansson; grandson, Matthew Ross. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 29, Tribute service 6:30 p.m., both Thursday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Roy officiating. Interment will be in Mount William Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
