Westville – Clark Bertram “Bert” Matheson of South Main St., Westville, passed away on Thursday, Mar. 13, at his home. Born in Middle Musquodoboit he was the son of Wendell and Evangeline (Kaulback) Matheson. Bert was a member of The Anglican Church. He was a dry waller by trade, having operated his own business for more than thirty years. He enjoyed fishing and repairing vehicles in his spare time. As well, he liked to play his guitar. Besides his parents Bert is survived by his wife, Dawn (Halliday), and by sons, Clark ‘Sam’ Matheson (Lisa), Ontario; and Randy Matheson(Devon), Westville; daughters, Lori Matheson (John), New Glasgow; Nicole Matheson and Candace Matheson, both of Westville; stepsons, Jimmy Lewis (Barb), Trenton; Scott Kehoe (Melissa), Edmonton; Orrie Lewis (Angela), Westville; stepdaughter, Cecille Lewis, New Glasgow; and by nine grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Gale (Sharon) Sask.; and Scott, Middle Musquodoboit; and sisters, Deanna (Gervaise) Currie, Sheet Harbour; Wendelin Pittman and Cosette (Claude) White, both of Enfield; and by several nieces and nephews. Bert was predeceased by an infant brother, Mark; his paternal grandparents, Walter and May Matheson; and his maternal grandparents, Fred and Monica Kaulback. Cremation has taken place. His family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Eagles Funeral Chapel with Rev. Peter Armstrong officiating. Spring interment will be in St. Bee's Cemetery. Donations in Bert’s memory may be made to The Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
