(December 24, 1930 - June 3, 2008) Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, June 3, 2008, Howard John Haynes, age 77 years. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Drucilla (nee Hall), five sisters and three brothers, Howard was the last of his family of nine. Also predeceased by son Leslie and son-in-law Terry Matchem. Leaving to mourn his wife of 55 years Mollie (nee Kendall); son Tom; daughters Debra Johnson (Keith), Carla Haynes), Annette Matchem; six grandchildren Melissa and Lori Johnson, Jeremy and Keith Matchem, David Haynes, Jonathan Haynes; also leaving a large circle of family and friends. Howard was a member of the Anglican Cathedral Mens Service Club, he was also involved with the Navel Association, and Chief and P.O.'s Mess in Halifax. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations in Howard's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
