Elmer Wallace Kaiser

Elmer Wallace Kaiser, (65), Lacorey, Alta, and formerly of Fisherman’s Harbour and Antigonish, died Saturday, October 18, 2008, in Bonnyville Medical Centre. Born in Fisherman’s Harbour, Guysborough County, he was a son of the late Doan and Avis (Crooks) Kaiser. During his working life, Elmer was a long haul trucker for Bickerton Fisheries. He then moved to Antigonish, where he continued his truck driving career with Seaboard Liquid Carriers and Allan (Moon) MacIsaac and Zinck’s Transport. Following this, Elmer relocated to Alberta and was employed with various trucking companies, including Gaulin Trucking. He is survived by sons, Sidney Kaiser, Antigonish; Claude (Tanya) Kaiser, Colburne; daughters, Angie Kaiser, Antigonish; Danielle (Sandy) Ehler, Bayfield; former wife, Chris (Iola) Huggan, Westville; sisters, Elizabeth Crooks, Halifax; Lois Kaiser, Fisherman’s Harbour; grandchildren: April, Melanie, Brydon, Samantha, Justin, Devin, Morgan, Brooklyn; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Ellsworth Kaiser, and one in infancy; sisters, Gladys Dort, Debbie Langille. Visitation will be held today from 6-9 p.m. in G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, St. Mary’s Chapel, 34 Main Street, Sherbrooke. Funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in Little Hope Union Church, Fisherman’s Harbour, with Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Port Bickerton. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of the G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, St. Mary’s Chapel, 34 Main Street, Sherbrooke.
