DR. ROBERT "BOB" HUGH CHALMERS
CHALMERS, DR. ROBERT "BOB" HUGH The death of Dr. Robert "Bob" Hugh Chalmers of Fredericton, husband of Isabel May (Dickison) Chalmers occurred on Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, at the age of 90. Born in Gibson, NB, he was a son of the late George Wilson and Mary (Branch) Chalmers. Dr. Chalmers was an Obstetrician and Gynecologist in Fredericton for many years. He was a member of the Gibson Memorial United Church, he served in the Royal Canadian Army Forces Medical Corps during World War II, the Royal Canadian Legion for 56 years and enjoyed curling, hunting and golfing . In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Judith Chalmers of Toronto, ON and Katherine (Shane) Robinson of Saint John, NB; step-children, Susan Holland of Fredericton, Robert Dickison (Nancy) of Fredericton and Moyra Dziurda (Michael) of Thunder Bay, ON; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Ruth Parlee McDougall; one son, Robert MacDougall Chalmers; two sisters, Lillian Jefferson and Marion Forbes; and one brother, Dr. Everett Chalmers. Although there will be no visitation, a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM from Gibson Memorial United Church, Fredericton, with Rev. Boyd Vincent officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Sunny Bank Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Gibson Memorial United Church or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
