ALLEN, RUTH ALCESTA Ruth Alcesta Allen, daughter of the late Marion and Henry Elliott was born in Victoria Corner, N.B., on March 29, 1922 and died in Royal Island Hospital in Kamloops, B.C. on March 21, 2003 at the age of 80. Ruth was a devoted Mother, Nana and Great Nana with a kind and generous spirit who reached out to everyone around her both in Victoria Corner where she worked and lived until 1974; then moving to BC where she settled in the Cache Creek - Ashcroft area where she lived surrounded by many great friends until the time of her death. Ruth is survived by six children, Barb Tattersall of Missions, B.C., Tom Smith of Abbotsford, B.C., Bill (Monique) Smith of Bear Island, N.B., Katherine Smith of Toronto, Ontario, Bob (Carla) Smith of Ottawa, Ontario, Ruthie (Errol) Nicholson of Islandview, N.B.; 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Myra Morgan from Victoria Corner, N.B.; brother Bill (Cleo) Elliott of New Maryland, N.B., as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth also leaves behind a very large extended step-family who welcomed her into their family and who she always spoke of fondly. Each and every one of us will miss her! Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Victor; one sister, Bertha; two infant sons, Richard and James; two grandchildren, Quentin Drost and Laurie Nicholson-Coy. Resting at the Britton Funeral Home, High Street, Hartland with visiting hours on Wednesday 2:30 to 4:30 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday March 27th at 2:00 pm from the Lorne Britton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Carl Brewer officiating. Interment will be in the Victoria Corner Cemetery.
