BELL, GORDON JAMES The death of Gordon James Bell of Lincoln occurred on Monday, March 31, 2003 at his home. Born in Charlottetown, PEI he was a son of the late James and Gertrude (Ingalls) Bell. After retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces in 1965, Gordon retired as a custodian for Capital Window Cleaners in 1987. He enjoyed fishing in PEI every summer as well as hunting in Cambridge Narrows and was a life-long Detroit Red Wings Fan. Gordon is survived by his Dutch War Bride of 57 years, Bertha "Bep" (Nieuwenstein) Bell; two sons Brad Bell (Madeleine) of Kingston, ON and John Bell of Kanata, ON; two daughters Johanna Curtis (Campbell) of Charters' Settlement, NB and Tessa Bell (Peter Lamey) of Durham Bridge, NB; one sister Doreen Painting of Fredericton; five grandchildren Jason and Brandon Curtis, Jeremy and Mitchel Morehouse, Brandi Bell (and her Mom Sandi Bell); several nieces and nephews as well as a special niece Heather Gregory. Besides his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his sister Mary Zink. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2003 at 2 pm from the York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wayne Flowers officiating. The Oromocto Branch # 93 of the Royal Canadian Legion will conduct a Tribute Service as part of the funeral service. Interment will take place at a later date in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Lincoln, NB.
