PICTOU – Frank Chalmers MacDougall, 83, of Pictou, and formerly of Lyons Brook, passed away July 23, 2008 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, Born in Big Ridge, Cape Breton, he was a son of the late Norman & Minnie (White) MacDougall. Frank worked as an Undertaker and Funeral Director at Fillmore’s Funeral Home in Sydney, and car dealerships in Sydney & Halifax. He graduated from Greer Technical School, Chicago, in air conditioning and refrigeration and worked in Florida before moving back to Nova Scotia where he worked in the Maintenance department at Michelin Tire, Granton until his retirement in 1988. Frank and Claire spent the winters in Florida after he retired. He is survived by his wife, Claire (Langille); son, Roly (Mary), Burlington, Ontario; grandchildren, Rhoda, Shawn & Ronald; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Katie Eddy, Sydney, and several nieces and nephews Frank was predeceased by brothers, Danny, Donald, and Allen; sister, Floina. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m., Friday, August 1 and 11 a.m. to the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, both in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Mary MacDermid will officiate. Reception to follow. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Family Flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to the West Pictou Food Bank, the Lyons Brook United Church or a charity of your choice.
