MURRAY, DAISY It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Daisy Murray of Fredericton at York Manor on May 14, 2003. She was 92. Daisy was married for 70 years to the late Murdock Murray. Born in England she was the daughter of the late George Shafe and Phoebe Shafe (Jackson). Daisy was a dedicated and selfless mother who raised eight sons and three daughters. After raising her children, she worked at the Victoria Public Hospital in the laundry section for approximately 15 years and retired at the age of 65. Daisy loved to spend her spare time completing puzzles of all types. In her early years, she loved to play piano, sing and she would often read to the elderly. A courageous, loving and devoted wife, mother and friend; Daisy's memory will be held dear in all our hearts. No words can adequately describe the kind, gentle, and thoughtful person she was and she will surely be missed by all. Daisy is survived by seven sons, Leslie (Anne) of British Columbia, Ronnie (Norma) of British Columbia, Albert (Margaret) of Fredericton, Arnold (Marlene) of Fredericton, Leo of Fredericton, Allen (Patsy) of British Columbia and Paul (Sylvia) of Fredericton. Three daughters, Elizabeth Hoare of Ontario, Sheila O'Neill (Keith) of Ontario and Joyce Maston (Bob) of Fredericton; one sister, Gwen Carr of Fredericton; one sister-inlaw, Esther Connors of Upper Blackville; 44 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Murdock; her sister Ivy Green; one son Ivan; one daughter-in-law Betty GlendenningMurray; two grandsons Ian Hoare and Aaron Murray and one great grandson Alexander Gunter. The family will receive visitors at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North on Sunday, May 18, 2003 from 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Theresa's Church on Royal Road at 10 am on Monday, May 19, 2003 with Rev. John Jennings as Celebrant. Interment will take place in the Hermitage Cemetery, Woodstock Road. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the Family.
