New Glasgow - Frederick Douglas White, 56, of New Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, August 29th, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born March 20, 1951, in New Glasgow, he was a son of John and Mary (Hayman) White of New Glasgow. He worked at Thompson and Sutherlands, Maritime Steel, Rowan Co., and Hawker Siddeley. He was an avid hockey fan, cheering for the Blackhawks and Devils. Besides his parents he will be sadly missed by brothers: John "Squeak" (Donna); Hugh (Linda), both of Westville; Glen (Karen), Scotland; sisters: Mary Ellen Ward, Wolfville; Cindy Greene; Chris (Miles) Kirkendall, both of New Glasgow; Kathy (Peter) Legere, Cole Harbour; Colleen (Wayne) Ban-tslot, Nepean, Ontario; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents: Harold and Sophie White, Henry and Mary Ellen Hayman. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday in Trinity United Church with Lori Crocker D.M. officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to the Pictou County Food Bank or a charity of choice.
