CURTIS, BYRON JOHN DEEREING Mr. Byron John Deereing Curtis, husband of Ella (Mountain) Curtis of 481 Route 118, Blackville, N.B., passed away Wednesday July 3, 2003 after a lengthy illness at the age of 82. Born in Blackville, N.B., he was the son of the late Silas B. and Alice (Kennedy) Curtis. He wa a carpenter and worked at CFB Renous Ammunition Depo. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Church, Blackville, member of the church choir, member of Orange Lodge, member of NB Hyland Society, member of Royal CanadianLegion Branch #48, Blackville, He was violinist for Country Gentlemen, St. Patrick's Rider Concerts for 50 eyars. He served overseas (1940-1946) as Dispatch Rider, he was in the core Commission. he was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Beside his wife Ella he is survived by two daughters, Patricia Curtis (Brian Weaver) of Fredericton, Nancy Curtis (Robert Steeves) of Fredericton; one son, Peter Curtis of Fredericton; five grandchildren, Andrew, Kathryn,Erin, Ashley and Justin. Predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Hartley, Wendell and Donald; one infant sister, Vida. Mr. Byron Curtis is resting at Davidson's Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, Miramichi with visitation on Saturday from 2-4 and 79.The funeral service will be held Sunday July 6 at 2:00 pm from St. Andrew's United Church, Blackville with Rev. Ron Feltmate Officaiting. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. At the request of the family donations to Deafblind and Rubella Association, Canadian Cancer Society or a memorial of ones choice would be appreciated.
