DOUGLAS ROSS BURPEE
BURPEE, DOUGLAS ROSS The death of Douglas Ross Burpee of 240 Wright Street, Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2003 in his 86th year. Born in Moncton; he was the son of the late Roy and Viola (Newcomb) Burpee. Douglas was a veteran of WWII having served overseas with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He later worked for Air Canada until he retired in 1978, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty one years Rosemary; one son, Douglas (Terry) of New Maryland; two daughters, Deborah Burpee of Vancouver, and Catherine (Andrew Tupper) of Ottawa; two grandchildren, Karen Burpee of Calgary and Ryan Burpee at home. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Elwood; two sisters, Helen and Lois. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 25th, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Monsignor Brian Sheehan officiating. Interment will be at a later date. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 will hold a tribute service following the memorial service.
