ROBERT (BOB) STILLWELL
STILLWELL, ROBERT (BOB) The death of Robert (Bob) Stillwell of Fredericton, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, July 29, 2003. Born in Fredericton, April 25, 1927, he was the son of the late Cleveland Garnet and Cora Jane Stillwell and husband of Joan (Seamone) Stillwell. Bob's career in radio took him from Saint John, N.B., to Newcastle, Bridgewater and Fredericton. Any one who ever heard his deep voice reading the news would always remember the clear sound. Bob will not only be remembered as a well known radio broadcaster with CFNB Radio in Fredericton, but also for his musical talents. He was a member of the well known Nova Scotia 1950's band "The Highliners", as well as a past member of the Barber Shopper's Association of America. Bob was an enthusiastic fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. He had contacts far and wide as a Ham Radio operator. Bob was much loved by family and friends and will be missed by everyone that knew him. He is survived by his wife; two sons David J. Stillwell (Beth) of Winnipeg, Thomas of Fredericton; one daughter Julia of Fredericton; two step-grandsons Colby of Winnipeg and Jeremy of Middleton, NS; one sister Pauline Butler of Saint John, NB. He was predeceased by a son Stephen (Kim) of Halifax, NS. No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held from Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Friday, August 1, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Doug Hapeman officiating.
