TORONTO, Ont. – Glenn Thomas Rankin, 83, Toronto, Ont., passed away peacefully with his family by his side following a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, in Toronto. Born in Westville, N.S., he was the son of the late Thomas and Laura (Porter) Rankin. He was predeceased by his son, Thomas; brother, John; sisters, Marg and Lila. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Erna (Adams); daughters: Reva (Jim), Darlene (Michael), Shelley (Antonio); nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Dot Crawford (Harry deceased), Westville; Jean Fraser (Harold deceased), Little Harbour; Alice MacDonald (Gordon) Westville; Shirley Semple (Donald), Victoria Harbourl, Ontario; brother, Robert, Westville; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral was held Saturday, August 23, 2008, in Toronto. Cremation followed. Interment of ashes at a later date in Glendale Memorial Gardens, Toronto.
