WESTVILLE – Gloria Jean (Polson) Belong, age 55, Westville, passed away January 30, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Audrey and Donald Polson. Gloria enjoyed time with her family and friends. She treasured all the times she spent with her grandchildren, who kept her young and on her toes. She loved playing darts with all her “special friends”. Gloria always enjoyed a good laugh and good joke. She is survived by her husband, Dave West; son, Ralph Belong; daughter, Crystal Belong (Kevin); step-daughters, Angie West (Mike) and Heather West (Caley); three special angels (grandchildren): Avery, Carlie and Kira; brothers, Tom Mahar (Starr), Vernon Mahar (Susan); two nephews and two nieces. Gloria was predeceased by her parents; and an infant daughter, Gloria Jean. Visitations will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eagles Funeral, Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Church of the Holy Name, Westville, with Father Donald Boudreau officiating. Donations in her memory may be made in trust of her grandchildren.
