YOUNG, JAMES "JIM" RUFUS The death of Jim Young occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Friday, September 12th, 2003. Born in New Waterford, Cape Breton, NS, he was the son of the late James and Cora (Ash) Young and husband of Carmen (Lavine) Young. Jim was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 and he worked for several years with the Cadets in the Oromocto area. Jim also loved to fish and garden. Survived by his wife, Carmen; daughters, Cora Ond and June Kinshella both of Burton, NB; son, Barry Young (Jacqueline) of Kingston, ON; brother, Sam Best (Mary); sisters, Germaine, Greta and Anna; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his fishing buddy, Bill Peddle; good friend, Glen Stewart and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Monday, September 15th, 2003 from 7-9 pm with a tribute being held at 7:00 pm by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93. A memorial service will take place at the St. John's Anglican Church, Oromocto, NB on Tuesday, September 16th, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Keith Howlett officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with a reception being held afterwards at the Legion.
