CECIL WILLIAM DAMERY
DAMERY, CECIL WILLIAM Cecil William Damery passed away at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Monday, September 15th, 2003 following a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 64 years. Born on July 1st, 1939 in Hunters Home, Canaan, NB. He was the son of the late Thomas and Helena (Black) Damery. Cecil served with the Canadian Forces in Petawawa, Germany and Gagetown and retired from the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps in 1987 after twenty-five years of service. He was a member of the Canaan Rivervalley Seniors Group and the RCD Association. His favorite past time was working on his stamp collection, working in the garden, hunting with Clevie, going to the market, and Saturday morning breakfasts with Mel and Dwight, and above all else his two grandchildren Karissa and Dokata were closest to his heart. Survived by his wife Betty, and their two sons, Stephen of Petawawa, Ontario and Mark of Lincoln, NB; two grandchildren, Karissa and Dakota, one sister, Bernita (Malcolm) Harris of Gananoque, Ontario; his aunt and uncle, Hazel and Clevie Kierstead, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 16th, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 17th, at 1:00 pm at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel. A committal service will take place at Canaan Forks Cemetery followed by a time of fellowship with the family at the Canaan Community Hall in Cherryvale.
