SORENSEN, ALAN N. After a courageous battle with cancer, the passing of Alan N. Sorensen, age 69, of Nashwaaksis occurred on Thursday, September 18, 2003 at home surrounded by his wife and children. Alan was born in New Denmark, New Brunswick on April 30, 1934. Alan was predeceased by his mother and father, Marie (Petersen) and Harold Sorensen, sisters, Beatrice Svendsen and Thelma Jensen, and brother, Carl George Sorensen. Alan was a talented Automotive Technician, working in Fredericton over the length of his career. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ella (Nielsen); two sons, Richard (Patricia) of Grand Falls, NB, Andrew (Judith) and a daughter, Janet White (John), both of Fredericton; seven special grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Alexandra, Emilly, Olivia, Matthew and Sarah; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, Brookside Drive at Douglas Avenue, Fredericton North, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 pm from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Canon Tom Smith officiating. A reception will follow service in the Fireside Room of York Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery, Foley Brook, NB on Sunday at 1:30 pm with Rev. Kim McNabb officiating.
