BURNS, JAMES H. The death of James H. Burns of Quebec formerly of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Cloutier Hospital on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2003. He was the son of the late Charles and Marian Burns; the husband of Rita (Breau) Burns. James was a past employee of both the Federal and Provincial Government. He was an Fredericton City Councilor for Ward eleven for two terms and a member of the Air Cadets, and was a Reserve Army Sergeant and past President 252 Wing Royal Canadian Air Force Association he also received the Governor General 125 Commemorative Medal. James was an accomplished singer and song writer and country music recording artist he was a member of the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame and founder of Capital City Jamboree, which later became known as NB Country Showcase, he sponsored the Atlantic Marian Gathering (1995) and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Past Grand Knight and was an active member of the Pastoral team of Our Lady of the Cape Shrine, Cap-de-laMadeleine (Quebec) for the past seven years. Survived by his wife, Rita, three sisters, Theresa (Terry) McManus of Fredericton, Mary (David) Reesor of Toronto, and Shirley (Gerald) Ogilvie of Fredericton; one brother, Charles "Bud" (Margaret) Burns, of Riverview several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home 160 York Street, Fredericton on Thursday September 25th , 2003 from 2-4 and 79 and Friday, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Dunstan's Catholic Church on Saturday, September 27th, at 11:00 with Fathers Yoland Ouellete O.M.I. and Phillippe Boudreau O.M. I. and Monsignor Brian Sheehan as celebrants. Interment will be in the Hermitage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes made to Our Lady of the Cape Shrine 626 Notre-Dame Street, Cap-de-la-Madeleine G8T 4G9 (819 374-2441) would be appreciated by the family. www.mcadamsfh.co
