JEFFREY, BERT LINT The death of Bert Lint Jeffrey of Pine Grove Nursing Home, formerly of New Maryland and Keswick Ridge, husband of Alice Louise (Plume) Jeffrey occurred on Sunday, October 5, 2003 at the nursing home. Born in Williamsburg, NB, he was a son of the late Hazen and Annie (Merrill) Jeffrey. Mr. Jeffrey was a retired foreman with Maritime Forest Ranger School and was a member of the New Maryland United Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Constance Jones of New Maryland; two sons, Bryon Jeffrey (Gail) of Penniac and Hazen Jeffrey (Connie) of Fredericton; three grandchildren, Karen Ridley (Mark) of Fredericton, Melanie Jeffrey of Halifax, NS and Andrew Jeffrey of Nasonworth; two great grandchildren, Caleb Ridley and Janessa Ridley; two sisters, Elva Murphy of Dover Foxcroft, Maine and Helen Cox of Saint John, NB; one brother, Ralph Hayman (Rheta) of London, On.; one brother-in-law, William Mitchell of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Ena Mitchell; one brother, Charles; a son-inlaw, Richard Jones; chosen family, Isaac and Mary Ashfield and their children, Alton, Vernon, Donald and Muriel. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive at Douglas Avenue, Fredericton North, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at 2 pm from the York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, Fredericton, NB with Rev. Merrill Slipp officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Fireside Room of York Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Pickard-Merrithew Cemetery, Keswick, NB. Pallbearers for the service are: Jack Plume, Wayne Plume, Michael Plume, Perley Wilkins, Dale Ashfield (all nephews) and Andrew Gardner. Honourary Pallbearers are: Alvin Ashfield and Sam Boone.
