NEW GLASGOW – Henrietta “Etta” (Martell) Jackson Armsworthy, 88, Grant Street, New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at the Glace Bay General Hospital. Born in Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late James Chambers and Georgina (Jackson) Martell. She was an active member of the communities where she lived – Red Cross and WINS, as well as a member of the Blair Presbyterian Church, Garden of Eden. Surviving are her daughter, Ida Mae (Michael) Riley, Walton; sons: Charles Howard (Linda), Guelph; Robert David (Ann), Sydney; James William “Bill” (Sheila), Orleans; Roderick “Buckley”, Dartmouth; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Charles William (2007), sisters, Violet Cullen and Mary West; brothers: Aubrey , Edward Alex and Cline; and granddaughter, Lisa. Her remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow for visiting from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday from where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday with Rev. Calvin Crichton officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Eden Cemetery. Donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
