GASTON, ROBERTA GERTRUDE The death of Roberta Gertrude Gaston, wife of William M. Gaston of Doaktown, N.B., occurred Friday, October 24, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a lengthy illness, at the age of 69. Born in Canso N.S., daughter of Mrs. Alfreda (Murphy) MacNeil and the late Robert MacNeil. She was a devout Catholic; she was a member of Our Lady of Annunciation Roman Catholic Church, DoaktownBlissfield Parish; member of CWL. She was very active in church and community affairs. She served three years in RCAF. She was a person who voluntarily offered herself in many different ways, such as grandparent volunteer at U.M.E.S. Boiestown and Doaktown Primary School; Mentally Handicapped Assoc. and Prince County Welfare Agency (Foster Care), both in Summerside PEI; Friendly Neighbours Assoc., Greenwood, NS; Roberta loved life firstly her family, children and grandchildren. Besides her mother and husband her she is survived by two daughters, Linda Gaston of Blissfield, Kelly Carroll (Keith) of New Bandon; one son, William (Lana) of Miramichi; two sisters, Verna MacDougall (Frank) of Anapolis Royal NS, Georgina McNeil of Lower Sackville, NS; five brothers, Gerald (Shirley) of Boutillier Point, NS, Malcolm of Sudbury, Ontario, Daniel of Halifax, NS., Robert of Halifax, NS, Thomas (Betty) of Schubinacadie, NS; six grandchildren, Dillon Anthony, Shelby Carroll, Rylee Carroll, Billy Gaston, Janie Gaston, Carly Dawn Gaston. Mrs. Roberta G. Gaston is resting at Davidson's Funeral Home, 579 Main Street, Doaktown with visitation on Monday October 27th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 am from Our Lady of Annunciation Roman Catholic Church with Father Mark Trzop officiating.
