HICKS, IVAN CLAUDE The death of Ivan Claude Hicks of Lower St. Mary's, husband of the late Bertha (Dutcher) Hicks occurred on November 15, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton. At the age of 75. Born in Canaan Station, NB. He was a son of the late Ira James Hicks and Ada Dora Linda (Larsen) Hicks. Ivan was retired from the Physical Plant at the University of New Brunswick, after working as the milkman for Thistle Dairy and also for Sussex Ginger Ale. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors, drives in the car and listening to country and western music, but was not known to play the fiddle. Ivan was very independent and lived life to the fullest. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends that he loved so very much. He is survived by two sons, Russell of Lower St. Marys, NB, Nathan (Mary) of Stanley, NB; two daughters, Ivy-Ellen Curtis (Danny) of Douglas, NB,Sarah Kulasegaram (Guna) of Fredericton; six grandchildren, Lindsey, Adrian, Devan, Shoba, Natasha and Matthew; two sisters, Edith Edgar of Plaster Rock, NB, Christina Meade of Paris, ON; four brother in-laws, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hicks was predeceased by three sisters, Frances Palmer, Edna Howe and Cora Cook. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday at 1pm with Rev. Doug Hapeman officiating. Interment will follow in the Burton Cemetery, Burton, NB.
