Irene E. (Palmer) Goodwin, 98, of Franklin, MA, died March 2nd, 2007, in Ayer, MA at the home of her daughter. She was the wife of the late Duncan W. Goodwin. Born in Lower Caledonia, NS, April 5th, 1908, the daughter of the late George and Delilah (MacKenzie) Palmer. She is survived by her son, William D. Goodwin and his wife Anna of Norton, MA, and her daughter, Cynthia M. Sawyer and her husband David of Ayer, MA. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, all of the U.S.A. She was predeceased by her brothers, Sterling and Basil Palmer of Bridgeville, NS, and a sister, Mabel (Palmer) George of Riverton, NS. Surviving locally are a nephew, Sterling George and nieces: Joyce Dean, Janet Shaw, Marjorie MacKay, Patricia Robinson and Karen Purvis. Her funeral was held on Tuesday, March 6th, in Franklin, MA, with burial in Gethsemane Cemetery, Boston.
