EVERETT ROBERT PALMER
PALMER, EVERETT ROBERT The death of Everett Robert Palmer of Fredericton, husband of the late Allie (Kitchen) Palmer, occurred on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Bloomfield Ridge, he was the son of the late Perley and Beatrice (Scott) Palmer. Everett was formerly employed as a longshoreman at the Essex Terminal in Windsor, Ontario. An avid outdoorsman, he liked hunting and fishing, especially salmon fishing, and was also a former hockey coach in Windsor. Everett was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces from 1954 to 1957, and was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Normandy Branch), and the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, both in Fredericton and Saint John. Everett is survived by a son, Terry Hughes (Sharon) of Quispamsis; grandchildren Steven, Jason, and Gail; a great granddaughter, Alyssa Hughes; brothers Leonard Palmer (Maxine) of Fredericton and Merlin Parker (Leslie) of Parker's Ridge; sisters Martha Astle of Astle, Priscilla Walsh of Selby, Ontario, Tressa Merrill (Dave) of Stanley, Thelma Leseaux (Roger) of Armstrong, British Columbia, and Ileene Wambolt (Russell) of Kentville, NS; a special niece, Judy Eatmon and her sons Virgil and Nigel, as well as several other nieces and nephews. Everett was predeceased by sisters Louise Grant, Mary Carson, and Jeanette Palmer. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, Brookside Drive at Douglas Avenue, Fredericton North, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dr. Brad Little will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date in the Prince William Cemetery.
