Jim was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth (Betty) (Roddick), and paternal Aunt Margie. Up to his illness Jim had been employed as a driver with Pictou County Chad Bus – a job he enjoyed every day. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at 2 p.m. in the Gairloch Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, Feb. 20th, with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. No flowers by request. Donations may be made in aid of the Canadian Diabetic Research Foundation. To his family and friends: remember him as the man, who was always there with a silly story or joke, who loved, laughed, and lived his short life thankful for each and every day; and “Grieve not for him that he has lost this battle – remember him for all the ones that he had fought and won before”.
