Jessie Ann Macdonald
Date de décès : 26 décembre 2007
THORBURN – Jessie Ann MacDonald, 65, of 41 Greenwood Rd., Thorburn, passed away on December 26, 2007, surrounded by her loving family at home. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Prudence (Foyle) Miller. Jessie was a resident of Thorburn for the past 37 years. She took pride in her work as a caretaker in the East Pictou School system, churches in New Glasgow and at the Community College Pictou County Campus in Stellarton. An avid sportswoman, you could count on Jessie to be at Barney’s River, first day and first light with usually the first fish. During hunting season she always beat the guys to the “honey spot” in Mieklefield, usually bagging a deer before anyone else. Her pride was appearing in a calendar standing in front of her smelt shack with a smile from ear to ear. Besides hunting and fishing, Jessie loved to garden, her house and her three little dogs. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Donald E. MacDonald; son, Donald Alan (Candace) of Westville. Her pride and joy was her grandson Justin, of Calgary Jessie is also survived by a brother, Bert Nicholson, whom she only discovered 10 years ago; many nieces, nephews from her extended Miller and Nicholson families. Jessie was predeceased by her Aunt Anne and Uncle Clarence of Mushaboom and her daughter-in-law and best friend, Brenda Emilio. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday in the H. W. Angus Funeral Home, from where a memorial service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Alan Klein officiating. Donations in memory of Jessie may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
