John "Carl" McEachern, 79, of Walkerville Road, New Glasgow, passed away Friday, January 5th, 2007, at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Joseph and Albina (Harquail) McEachern. Carl worked in the car industry most of his life. He is survived by special friend, Mildred Ranahan, New Glasgow; special goddaughter, Patty Slaunwhite, Island East River; several cousins and a nephew. He was predeceased by a brother, James. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. There will be a public graveside service held at the Holy Cross Cemetery, New Glasgow, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday with Father Colin MacKinnon officiating. Donations in memory of Carl may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
