WESTVILLE - John Reginald "Reg" Muir, age 88, of East River Manor, formerly of Church Street, Westville, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2007. Born in Westville, September 22, 1918, he was a son of the late Peter and Viola (MacDonald) Muir. Reg was a veteran of WWII, serving overseas in England, Belgium, France, Germany, and Holland. After the war he worked at the Drummond Coal Mine and then Spencer Motors. He later worked at the Nova Scotia Power Commission for 20 years until retirement. He was a member of the Overseas War Veterans Assoc. and Scotia Lodge #11 I.O.O.F. He will be sadly missed by his sons, Kenneth (Patricia), Stellarton; Alan (Debbie), Stellarton, Gary (Jane), Pictou; grandchildren: Watson, Barbie, Joanne, Peter, Christopher, Derek, Jodi, and Tana; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Annie (MacDonald); infant grandson, Waylon; and brothers, Carmond and Vincent. Visitation was held Sunday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Scotia Lodge #11 I.O.O.F. conducted a service Sunday at the funeral home. His funeral service was held Monday from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Westville, with Rev. Glenn Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Andrew's Church, Westville.
