ALVIN SHERWOOD BARTLETT
BARTLETT, ALVIN SHERWOOD The death of Alvin Sherwood Bartlett of Fredericton, husband of the late Bertha (Cornish) Bartlett occurred on Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Stanley, NB, he was a son of the late Earle and Mary (MacNeil) Bartlett. Mr. Bartlett was owner and operator of Bartlett's Esso in Stanley; he was a member of the St. Thomas Anglican Church, and a member of the Lions Club for many years. He is survived by, one daughter, Bonnie Hurley (Richard) of Hanwell; two sons, Melvin Bartlett (Gladys) and Winston Bartlett (Roberta) both of Stanley; grandchildren, Mary Turnbull, Michael Bartlett, Barry and Tony Bartlett, Jennifer Brewer and Jill O'Reilley; 13 great grandchildren; two sisters, Venetta Arsenault (Danny) of Nova Scotia and Leah Roberts of Ontario; two brothers, Hilton Bartlett (Noreen) of British Columbia and Eugene Bartlett (Jeanette) of Canning, NS; several nieces and nephews; Special Friend, Audrey MacKenzie. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Bartlett was predeceased by two brothers, Russell and Wendell. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, Brookside Drive at Douglas Avenue, Fredericton North, on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 2 pm from the York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, Brookside Drive, Fredericton with Rev. Ranall Ingalls officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the St. Thomas Anglican Cemetery, Stanley. For those who wish, remembrances to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
