Joseph Frank Martin Jr., 41 of 25 Clairemont Avenue, Stellarton. It is with great anguish that the family announce the sudden passing of their beloved only boy in the early morning of Sunday, November 18, 2007. Born in New Glasgow on January 8, 1966 and raised in Stellarton, he was a son of Caroline (Myers) Martin, Stellarton, and the late Joseph Martin. Joseph attended the Stellarton Vocational School where he went on to graduate with honours from the High Pressure Welding program, later going on to work at Trenton Works until its recent closing. Joseph devoted his life to his family, loved children and animals. He took great pleasure in a good pool tournament. Surviving besides his mother, Caroline Martin, Stellarton; are his sisters: Jane Suttis (Reuben Malloy), Stellarton; Joanne (Robert) Taylor, Plymouth Park; Emma (Charles) White, Stellarton; nephew, Darren (Heather) Taylor, Plymouth Park; nieces, Carol Anne White (Jason Thompson), Stellarton; and Jennifer Cooper, Stellarton; great-nephew, Dylan White; and great-niece, Emily Taylor. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Martin. His remains will rest in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton for visiting from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday from where funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Alma. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Joseph may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, the SPCA or to a charity of one’s choice.
