NEW GLASGOW – Karen Louanne (Hambelton) Cromwell, 57, New Glasgow, passed away Friday, October 24, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by loved ones. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Fern MacKay and the late John E. Hambleton. Karen was a loving mother, a kind and generous friend, who possessed a wonderful sense of humour. Her proudest accomplishments were her children. In earlier years she enjoyed figure skating, horse riding and jumping. She was an avid sports fan and reader, enjoyed writing, watermelon, summer sunshine and her beloved cats, Callie and Bruce. Surviving are her children, Oliver, Manitoba; Jacy, Halifax; Kaela, Dalhousie University; Jason, New Glasgow; step-mother, Edna Hambleton; half-sisters, Heather MacIvor, Cindy Pitts; brother, Randy McMullin; four grandchildren, many aunts, uncles and cousins; best friend, Barry (Joyce) Hatfield. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Wayne McMullin. The family will receive visitors 12 – 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 29th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. with Father Paul Abbass presiding.
