NEW GLASGOW - Kathleen "Kay" MacGillivray, age 76, of High St., New Glasgow, passed away Monday, June 4, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born in Saint John's, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late James and Effie (Spurrell) Tilley. She was a member of the CB Radio Club and was a volunteer with the S.P.C.A. She is survived by daughters: Joan (James) Hughes, New Glasgow; Margaret (Toney) English, British Columbia; Irene MacGillivray, Thorburn; son, Billy (Susan) MacGillivray, Thorburn; grandchildren: Lori Hughes, Shane MacKenzie, Angie Landry, Kathy MacGillivray, Brent MacGillivray and Heather MacLean; nine great-grandchildren; sisters: Josephine (Joe) Feit, Thorburn; Doris Shindrick, Thorburn; Mamie (Russell) Reid, New Waterford; Joan (Tom) Kane, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence; infant son, Daniel Frederick; brothers: Alphonso, Joe, Tom, Alex, James; sisters, Marg Downey and Theresa White. Family visitation 7-9 p.m. today in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Cremation to follow. Funeral mass 2 p.m. Thursday in Saint Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Thorburn, with Father Colin MacKinnon officiating. Burial in Saint Ann's Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or a charity of choice.
